Veteran Benefits Guide announces Matt Shearer as president and chief operating officer

Veteran Benefits Guide, is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Shearer as the new president and chief operating officer. Shearer has recently served as the company’s interim chief operating officer, helping to identify efficiencies and strengthen operations.

In this expanded role, Shearer brings extensive leadership experience in business development, customer experience, brand positioning, and operational strategy. Matt is a results-driven executive and has advised CEOs and senior leadership teams worldwide on building high-performing organizations, scaling businesses globally and leading market transformations across North America, Europe and Latin America. Matt will work alongside Josh Smith, chief executive officer, continuing to provide valuable counsel and guidance to the company and its leaders.

Prior to joining VBG, Matt spent over two decades at Under Armour, where he played a pivotal role in the brand’s international expansion. He launched the Canadian subsidiary from the ground up, growing it to more than $400 million in revenue, and led sustained double-digit growth across European markets. As senior vice president of North America operations, he oversaw the operational activities of a $3.5 billion business.
