VBG applauds confirmation of Brown to VA post

Las Vegas – (July 30, 2025) – Veteran Benefits Guide, a company dedicated to guiding America’s veterans toward obtaining their earned benefits, is applauding U.S. Senate confirmation of former Army Captain and Nevadan Sam Brown as head of cemetery and memorial affairs for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Brown’s confirmation came on a 54-44 vote.

“Sam Brown is a proud and dedicated veteran whose sacrifice for our nation is well known and admirable,” said VBG Co-founder and CEO Josh Smith. “All of us who fight for veterans’ rights want the best possible people in leadership positions and I’m confident he’ll do a fine job in this important role.”

Brown served five years in the United States Army and was severely wounded during a 2008 deployment to Afghanistan. In 2023, he ran for the U.S. Senate from Nevada.  Now that he’s been confirmed by the Senate, he’s expected to be sworn in within days.

“I want to thank and acknowledge Nevada Senators Jacky Rosen and Catherine Cortez-Masto for voting to confirm Sam Brown,” Smith said. “It’s good to see differences put aside when it comes to doing what’s best for our veterans.”
